The period of complementary feeding (6-23 months) is a critical time in a child’s life, and it is important to ensure an appropriate diet to prevent malnutrition. Emergencies are especially critical as they might jeopardise infant and young child feeding. It is therefore important to prioritise the support of families with children aged 6-23 months in emergencies, in order to ensure access to appropriate complementary foods, promote positive feeding practices and facilitate optimal growth and development. This material examines the interventions and actions implemented in emergencies in Sudan.

This case study can aslo be accessed through ENN’s website.
