This guidance is based on relevant guidance relating to Infant and Young Children Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF-E), particularly: Operational Guidance (IFE 2007), Sphere Standards 2011 and the international code of marketing of breast-milk substitutes (WHO 1981 and subsequent resolutions). This document offers a guidance to general practitioners on how to ensure that the specific needs of the infants and young children are assessed and addressed adequately into programming.
